PRODUCTION MANAGER - MOLOKAI

Full-time | 30-40 hrs/week

Location: Kalamaʻula, Molokai, HI

Compensation: $2,800-3,200/mo. salary or $17.50-$20/hourly, plus benefits.

General Summary

The Molokai Production Manager will assist Kealopiko Inc. in developing and reaching its goals

and objectives, specifically through leading the Molokai All Aloha Production operations and

working in the following capacities:

Management​: Oversee and co-manage the Molokai Production staff at the Kalamaʻula

workshop location. Responsibilities include the daily operational needs of the company and

communication with Kealopiko staff on Molokai and in other Kealopiko Offices located on Oʻahu

(brick and mortar store in Kewalo), and Paiko workshop, storage & distribution facility (Paiko,

Oʻahu). This includes:

- Manage, schedule and delegate tasks to Molokai production staff at workshop (at

Kalamaʻula).

- Manage inventory of raw materials for production needs. Report needs for new

purchasing to Ane Bakutis (Production Poʻo).

- Analyze each fabric/product for damages before being sent out for sewing or placed into

active inventory.

- Manage All Aloha production needs for company to maintain the required inventory in

Store and Online.

- Manage all custom All Aloha requests and deadlines.

- Manage interns and internship programs.

Production: Oversee and co-manage Molokai production staff, ensure the highest quality and

workmanship is being upheld by staff.

- Dying, screen printing, cutting & packing fabric and/or sewing for the fabrication of

Kealopiko products.

- Create All Aloha Production sheets in consultation with Ane Bakutis and Lauren

Caldiero.

- Ensure production staff stays on task and meets production deadlines

- Pack and ship any product for sewing on Oʻahu, ensuring all items needed for

production/sewing are included or at seamstresses on Oʻahu. Assure that sewing Tech

Sheets are completely filled out and included.

- Assist with any other kealopiko production needs, assist in the development of Fashion

Training Program.


Physical Requirement​s

- Must be able to stand and be outdoors for extended periods of time.

- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

- Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.

- Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times

noisy) work environment.

- Must be able to travel for certain job tasks utilizing various transportation methods.


Minimum Job Requirements

- Always kind, thoughtful and filled with Aloha.

- (1-3) years of experience in business administration, organization, fashion technology

and/or retail.

- (1-3) years of experience in a manager position, overseeing employees and the tasks

and schedules of other employees.

- Working knowledge of personal computers (preferably Mac) with experience in the use

of such programs as Word, and Excel.

- The ability to write clearly and persuasively; comfortable with team-based work structure;

ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job.

- Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on all

areas of responsibility.

- Proficient in the fashion & textile basics- sewing and textiles.

- Understanding of and participation in the cultural values that the Company is founded

upon.

- Valid State of Hawaiʻi Driverʻs license, clean insurance record and access to a vehicle in

good standing.


Other Desirable Skills

- Knowledge of design programs in particular Photoshop, Illustrator.

- Experience with Quickbooks, Quickbooks online and Quickbooks POS and/or other

accounting and point of sale systems.

- Education and/or experience in art (primarily graphic design, drawing, printmaking,

textiles, photography, fabric dyeing, screen printing, pattern-making, size grading).

- Knowledge of Hawaiian plants, animals, culture and language.


Benefits

Medical benefits are provided (see Employee Handbook). Employee is entitled to

Workmans Compensation and TDI. Paid vacation is earned by pay period (7 hours

vacation for every 80 hours worked). We also offer Kealopiko product for you at cost

and for family/friends at the wholesale price.


Employee Conduct

Kealopiko operates on the foundational principle that business runs best when we treat

each other with aloha and respect. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every employee

Terms

The employee is responsible for tracking hours worked. Hours are submitted to the

Kealopiko Accountant by the 15th and 30th-31st of every month. Payment will occur

typically 3-5 days after the pay period ends, roughly 4th and 18th of every month.

A performance evaluation will occur 90 days after employee's start date (at the end of

the probationary period). At this point, Kealopiko has the option to terminate the

employee if satisfactory standards are not met during the probationary period.

Otherwise, a performance evaluation will be conducted after the first 6 months and then

annually thereafter. If the employee or Kealopiko would like to terminate the agreement

a two-week notice is required.

Retail Sales Associate & Workshop Assistant | Full Time | Honolulu, HI | Start date by September 2017

Job Brief

Kealopiko is looking for an enthusiastic and people-savvy individual to handle sales associate job duties in the Kealopiko store and to assist the Oʻahu operations manager with stock handling and customer orders and inquiries. The successful retail sales associate will provide excellent customer service, meet sales goals, and work effectively with the store managers, Oʻahu operations manager, owners and other employees. S/he will also help to maintain organization and efficient handling of products at our Oʻahu operations workshop. Those with passion in some area of Hawaiian natural or cultural knowledge and the desire to share that with customers will best fit this position.
